Redding Drag Racers Participate in the Pacific Division Finals at Auto Club Famosa Raceway

On September 19-21, 2014, Redding Dragstrip sent 10 drag racers to the Pacific Division Finals at Auto Club Famosa Raceway in Bakersfield, CA. While the competition was tough, one racer, Dwayne Opperman seemed to stand up to the pressure.

According to Bill Wood, Redding Drag Strip representative, “Dwayne Opperman did very well. He got runner up in the run for the money round. He made it all the way to the final round in Saturday’s race and got runner up when he broke out. In Sunday’s Race Of Champions, he made it all the way to the final 7 cars. Were very proud! These racers are the best of the best from all the tracks in NHRA Division 7, so the competition was fierce.”

Congratulations to Dwayne Opperman and all of the Redding Dragstrip drag racers who traveled so far to represent Northern California drag racing.
